An Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) is a social worker who has advanced training and experience in mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions. This accreditation is awarded by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and recognises a high standard of clinical expertise.
At Be With Healing, this means your counselling is grounded in evidence-based approaches, trauma-informed care, and a deep understanding of how mental health, life experiences, and social systems interact. You’ll receive support that considers not just symptoms, but your whole story—offering care that is compassionate, relational, and tailored to your unique needs.
Additionally, as an AMHSW, sessions may be accessed at a lower cost through a Mental Health Care Plan, which provides a Medicare rebate for eligible clients. This helps make counselling more accessible, with only the gap fee payable after the Medicare rebate.
